New Monotypes

This is a photo of the studio of Open Press, Denver, under the tutelage of Mark Lunning, master printmaker.  Most of my prints that day began with a brayer with details added with brush and other mark-making tools including my fingers.

Here are some examples of the prints made that day.

I painted this picture in 2013 on my return from Oregon.  The influence of my usual mountain environment was challenged by the different settings of the Oregon coast.

Borrowed Etching Press!

I'm going to borrow an etching press, now that I have the basics of monoprinting.  This home-built beast has a set of 13 1/2 inch rollers and weighs a ton. It can certainly deliver the crushing pressure needed for intaglio and monoprinting.  I can hardly wait to set it up and begin creating and exploring the possibility this new equipment affords.  Special thanks to Cameron Garland of Sparkly Rock Bindery.
